Looking at my original screen used gloves , they don't seem like dye, but paint. They also has a few chips in them, and I don't dye chips, but if you want to try dye, I guess any black shoe rub on dye would work. Just a guess on my part.C1-978 wrote:Is there a particular type of dye that anyone has used for the gloves?

Ok...I will post some pics here soon.....but I have to tell of my results. I used some dye I purchased at a Tandy Leather Store. It is made by FIEBINGS and is USMC Black. I applied the first coat which really went on smooth and covered the glove very well. I let it dry for over 2 days and came back and found that when I rubbed my finger over the leather that would be on the top of the wrist of the glove (the one with Cooper stamped over it) and it just wiped right off. It seems the rest of the glove is holding onto the dye fairly well. Any ideas on how to get the dye to hold on the wrist band?

This wrist band section is covered by the same material the under suit is made out of.C1-978 wrote:Ok...I will post some pics here soon.....but I have to tell of my results. One of the guys that worked at Universal Studio's theme park sent me some photos he took years ago. These photos were from the old Transformer attraction that Universal had, and I was looking at the gloves, and to tell you the truth from what I can see these are Cylon gloves. At least that is what they look like. Check out the new Transformer photo gallery to see more of these cool photos

Well it is a long time since gloves have been discussed.
C1-978, how did your dye attempts finish up?
Plus Dale you might be able to help, some pictures I have seen where people have what looks like tape on the wrist band of the gloves. Some times black, some times silver/chrome. So my question is, is this accurate or a fan modification.
Thanks, Patrick
