Missing bayonets on Cylon rifles
I just came to realize that in a few episodes of BSG 1978 (especially in "The Gun on Ice Planet Zero") a few of the Cylon rifles had no bayonets. Do you have any suggestions or ideas for what reason the bayonets were removed?

That is a great question, and does have a simple answer. Doing the production as the almost blind actors walking in the Cylon suits would trip and fall very easy. As they would fall, besides damaging the chromed pieces they would break other things as they fell, like the rifle weapon. As these item were broken, or damaged they would ship them off to the soon to be opened Universal Tour attraction Battle of Galactica. The Imperious Leader ended up in the tour also, that is why on the plant when the Imperious Leader showed up the episode "The Living Legend" all you saw was the back of his robe. The Imperious Leader wad busy telling the Cylons to attack the human in the ride.
Thanks for the screen cap of the Cylons with damaged weapons.
Here is a photo of the Cylon while in the attractions

And I always thought the bayonets just kept getting stuck inside Lt. Dillon.

Time to revive an old thread...
After we're able to solve the mystery of the missing bayonets on the Cylon rifles, here's another problem I've stumbled upon:
After looking closely to the scene from "The Young Lords" where the Cylons chasing Starbuck through the swamp, I've came to realize that the rifle of the second Centurion in the row is missing it's ENTIRE muzzle (see screen-cap below).
Any explanations for that?
Oh, and interestingly, the muzzle suddenly reappeared in the next scene, while the side panels getting lost...

Red Eye... I've found another production error/mystery. In the Living Legend - part II when the Imperious Leader is walking into the group of Cylons - there are Centurions watching him walk by. Their back pack stickers are on upside down!
Seems that someone wasn't paying attention in the prop department!

Have a screen cap on that? It would be cool to see that.Cylon-Knight wrote:Red Eye... I've found another production error/mystery. I can make a capture of it, sure.
Also - in The Young Lords (where Starbuck helps the kids on Atilla... think I got the title right)... when Specter sends out a phalanx of centurions - they are running up the stairs and there is a tight shot of their boots. One of them has the paint TOTALLY worn off. Must be one of the centurions that was walking in the water, and the paint didn't hold up?

Here's a comparison of the screen-cap to the correct applied sticker:
Hope you don't mind my hastily behavior Cylon-Knight...

Two more BSG nit-picks tonight - Fire In Space.
Sheba starts flying her viper with a Pegasus helmet - then IN FLIGHT - it changes to a Galactica one. And then later it is back to Pegasus for one shot, then back to Galactica.
Also, Starbuck is outside in his space suit planting charges... he waves at Apollo, but his wrist is TOTALLY exposed skin (OOPS).
