Hummmmmm....
I think that a GoldCylon in America and a Gold nashslash in the UK would balance out the command duties of the Cylon Empire here on Earth *SHHH that's a secret
*
I personally and going to make a black under suit for my Cylon at first (chrome armor) to practice before I try a plumb one.
I would have to say - chrome - nashslash. When someone thinks of "classic" Cylons, they think of chrome - then gold. SO - first build a Chrome suit - THEN A GOLD
double your fun.

Spoke with Paul today from VMC. He said my armour is just about ready to be collected. I'm going to collect it on Monday, so I will get some pictures up as soon as possible. He did have 1 problem with the backpack as the support bar I bonded in wasn't strong enough for the weight. I will collect the backpack Monday and rebond the holding bar into it and return it along with my replacement Boot armour in a week or so. He said that everything else was looking fantastic and had come up and finished off great. I'm really looking forward to collecting it and seeing it for myself.
I did speak with Paul regarding some of you guys sending over your armour to be chromed. He said he didn't have any problem with that at all. You would however need to arrange your own Currier and insurance for transportation.
There shouldn't be any problems with customs or TAX as you are not selling the armour of giving it as a gift. You are only sending the armour here for a service on it, then it will be returned to you. He suggested that you speak with your local customs office or Currier and check this information out? If it really is 4 times more expensive there to get your suits chromed then it may be cost effective to do this...

Yeah, then maybe a bulk shipment from the States could even help the price go down. (Like if GoldCylon shipped me some stuff, then I reboxed it into one box, and sent that off to the UK... I dunno - just thinking out loud
)
Red Eye - should be cheaper for you over in Germany? (Or maybe not... there I go thinking again! HAHA)

Today was the day I collected my armour from Paul @ VMC.
Here are the results. There is a small amount of pitting and spots on some of the pieces, but as you can tell. In the light of day they are nearly unnoticeable. The pitting was not caused by anything that Paul had done it was caused by different layers of product on the fibreglass lid. Primer, filler, fibreglass. Chrome shows up everything 1000 fold.
Belt boxes. There is no crazing on the finish its reflecting the clouds.

Rib and Arm Rings

Shoulders

Styrene Lid

Fibreglass Lid

The gauntlets

Chest

Like I said in an earlier post the backpack mount not not strong enough to hold the backpack during coating. I have picked this up and will be returning them along with the boot armour probably next week when I have completed re mounting the backpack and trimming the boot armour..
