This is the plan for 2024. I got these images from Stephane Dorion the shop owner of GalacticCostume. He really has mastery of this costume, among others!
What I do NOT have figured out is where to scare up another helmet and pair of Full Bore moto boots to paint white. The boots being the real miracle. I was so lucky to find one pair. I just don't think I'll ever be that lucky again. In my life. The solution may be to get a replica made of the pop-buckles and have them cast in real metal. Then someone like WeAreGladiator (Omy Polo) could easily produce more accurate look-alike TOS colonial boots than are generally available right now. I've seen some, like, spats that slip over your boots or wrap around and give the appearance from across the street of rectangular metal buckles regardless of what your boots and laces look like underneath. I guess the modern BSG boots just have square frame buckles, but to get the TOS boots to look right you need those Sidi pop buckles, but they just don't make them anymore. If you're wondering, I did have my boots altered to lengthen some of the straps.

Ship of Lights - love it!
Somewhere there is a photo of me in Centurion costume next to a white uniform on display at a vendor. He tracked me down to get a photo of me by it. I must say... I looked great! I'll keep digging for it.

Man, I'd love to see that if you happen to find it. It's funny how the first costume I ever wanted was the centurion and the closer I get to it the larger the intervening space grows with related costumes. Maybe 2025 will be the year I go chrome. With the normalization of really amazing 3d print tech and open source 3d software we are really entering a renaissance of affordable accurate cosplay props unlike we've ever enjoyed before. Maybe chroming will get cheaper too.
