The Galactica Book

Post by GoldCylon » Fri Mar 21, 2014 5:13 pm

Hey guys sorry I have been a bit low and slow to be an active part of the forum, but I have been very busy in my personal life, and the Galactica world and well 60 hours a week to work.
So one of my projects that now might be two is my involvement with a major book publisher on a 78 series Galactica book. There really isn't much more to say except it is a very good quality publisher. High end stuff. I'll answer question if I can and tell more as I learn more.

Can't wait to read more about it!

It is in the early research level, so I am unsure the direction it is going to take, but I was referred to the "Terminator Vaults", and the "Alien Vaults" as a reference on the style they are trying for. Pre, and post production notes, photos, stories that can be acquired will determine the direction. I have already put them in contact with Glen, so that will be a big help even if he just writes the foreword.

Right, I'm getting where this is coming from now. It's going to be a book with rare stuff connected with the show. It won't be particularly in-depth but will highlight interesting curios associated with it. Firmly aimed at fans and the Christmas gift market.

I had the Star Trek Vault book, which was quite nicely done.

I was set a comp Terminator book, and it is very well done, and great quality, but I am not sure they could get it done in time for Christmas.

"Speak."

This book may be interesting reading.
But one detail is worrisome--how many cubits a buyer would have to pay for it.
There are so few sources of wealth available to those who may want it.

Since the announcement of the book, those of us who may wish to read a copy have awaited progress on its publication.
I request the indulgence of our Imperious Leader in calling for a status report upon the same.

If I recall the original release price was $29.95 so it has taken a big fall in the price. I talked with the writer of the book, and publisher many times while the book was on the board being put together. The writer is very disappointed on how much was cut, and the published I was working with lead me to believe it was going to equal amounts of the 78 series, as much as the 03 reboot. As I see it I see about 60-70% is the newer show, but at least the little add of items are all 78 series items.
