Who puts the Armor kits together cheaply and can paint them gray but not chrome them?

There might be someone around here who could do you a kit. Alternately try Ebay from time to time. I bought a new one myself and they are expensive and certainly not worth the money, that's for sure.
Just get the armour, helmet and the boots, get the undersuit made from a local dressmaker to yourself. The sweeping eye kit is available all over the net. I suspect you could get it together for less than $1000-1200 or

The way I see it for budget Cylon
armor kit ebay 190 ebay
Gloves 30
Boots 10 to 80 (if not picky)
Undersuit just black would be cheap say 20, ribbing and all to be nice would make more say http://www.starfortressproductions.com/galactica.html has one for 290 shipped no pictures though
Skirt could go nice or try to make something cheap 50 to 150 cost
Then assembly/painting cost
so
740 plus assembly cost.
Or if can cut way back without being picky on boots 230 plus skirt undersuit and assembly cost. How much would it cost to assemble and paint gray but not chrome I wonder.

I live in the UK and for that chrome effect I have sourced 3 companies that can do the job.

Undersuit does seem to be a tough part of the costume. One could always start cheap with just a black jumpsuit and get a nice one later on. Chroming is high end. I just researching low end budget cylon cost. There seems to be a lot of info on how to get the best parts; little on how to get cheaper stuff for a budget costume.

That is really uncool. For that much money you would expect close to perfection.
What a real shame, I thought the pieces looked like they had been chromed and then trimmed - not my preference if I was to purchase the armour. Now I am no expert but it would seem that it should be the other way around.
