Care for latex masks

Post by Skullbeast » Sat May 19, 2012 10:17 am

Cleaned only with mild detergent and water (dish soap thinned on a towl).
Keep out of sunlight keep out of sunlight keep out of sunlight. Direct sunlight will destroy it no time. You can prance around in the sunlight just don't stay out there for days on end. Keep about 70

But one should not clean cracks with a brush while you prance around in the sunlight.

And I was just about ready to take my mask to the local Cylon body wash. OK this method given sounds much easier, and cheaper.

Drop the pipe and move along. Nothing to see here. Oh. Maybe the wrong crack.

Skullbeast; Is the Latex you use today for your masks any better or more durable/ resistant to deterioration elements like (UV/ Air polutents) compared to the materials that they used in the 70's ?

Care for latex masks

Not so much it's natural so it rots. But proper care and they last a long time. Tom Savini has some real old ones 30 plus they are fragile but intact.
