I am trying to find some out detailed photos of the pistol, but have to have fond them. I do recall on the tip 3 grooves were cut closer to the front. I would say equally divide into 5 section, and take the first 3 marks from the front as the groove cuts. Minor 1/64 of a inch at most when a sanding of the tip to give it a frosted like look.

What other episode has a holster other than return of Starbuck and the night the cylons landed?

Red Eye used a holster but it was a Colonial.
That holster is a left over from Buck Rogers.

None - no other episodes feather the Cylon pistol/or hoster.
The holster and pistol are exclusive G1980 Cylon prop. 1978 BSG Cylons had only rifles and swords.

If that's the case all my research is complete on the holster. I made a few mods to make the "buck holster" into Cy's. It's a little different in length then the buck Rodgers holster. They must have cut the thing in half.

The Buck version had a muzzle flash ring, and it was cut off for Galactica 1980.
