In a recent brief editorial in (Issue 333) of Starburst Magazine Producer David Eick talked to writer Steven Eramo about some of the things we're likely to see revealed in the second half of Season Two, which premiered last weekend in the USA on the Sci Fi Channel.

If the new Re - imagined Battlestar Galactica is anything then it is darker than the original show, and according to Eick the show is likely to get much darker and there is likely to be more internal strife within the fleet.

"There's dysfunction within the fleet, but it's not coming as much from our people as it is from different corners of the fleet," notes Eick. "For example rather than Adama and his son Lee [Jamie Bamber] being at odds, or Adama and President Roslin [Mary McDonnell] butting heads, they're now turning their attention towards the external strife that's taking place outside the Galactica."

Internal strife aside the show is also going to reveal more about the Cylon Agenda especially toward the tail end of the season.

"In the latter half of this year we're also going to witness how the Cylon agenda has become [more] complex and all the more difficult to identify. What fans of the show are going to find by the time we get to the end of this season is that the show has moved in a direction so unlike anything I think people out there are expecting. There's a huge shock in episode 20 [Lay Down Your Burdens, Part II] and I hope we're able to maintain the quality of that surprise going into the third season."

Looking into the Future Eick states that he has some ideas of where he would like the third season story arc to go.

"Whereas this season was more about an investigation of our heroes and the ways in which they can be their own worst enemy, year Three in some respects is going to turn that on its ear," says the executive producer. "We're going to investigate the Cylon world in a whole new way, and how they may not be as lacking in Human feelings as they would like to think."

You can read further comments from David Eick in the current issue of Starburst magazine, which is out now in all good news agencies throughout the UK priced £3.99.
