Re: Images wanted for Cylon citizen mask (new build)
The only update I can hand out is that I let Brian borrow the back of the mask to help align the front to a screen used back. Hope that makes more of a true to form front piece.

How about posting some photos of it?GoldCylon wrote:Looking at some of these photos I see a costume in the back ground that I own. I knew I had a lot of Buck costumes, but never got around to buying the DVD, and and watching the episodes to ID the costumes. The orange like costume in the back ground is the one I have.
That would be great!

Now that's a bunch of costumes!
Guess there's some identifying work to be done...

That is about 5% of what I have, and I sold many of them. Also a large amount of footwear.Red Eye wrote:Now that's a bunch of costumes!

Who knows what other goodies you may have?
Please post some photos of the Civilian robe, if you can find it.

In a box? booooo
Put them OUT and show them! That's like having 10 $100 bills sitting a box. They are not doing any good in a box!

Re: Images wanted for Cylon citizen mask (new build)
I keep meaning to post updates but as of now... there are none! I kind of took a break after I found all that all could find of the found parts. There are three or four things I need to scratch build but I have not had a chunk of time to do them. I did get a few more light kits for the brow which work nicely.
The back of the mask provided by Dale is from a smaller head then the one I used. It must have been a small male or female head originally used. I'll probably post some pictures tomorrow (Sunday) with my mask and the back of the screen back.
Hopefully I'll be in full action in the next two weeks with the civi mask. Thanks for pushing me!

Re: Images wanted for Cylon citizen mask (new build)
UPDATE TIME!!
As promised I would post a few new shots. Dale came by today and took a few pictures of the lights in action and a few with the original backing. My replica is based off a larger head so the two don't mesh very well.
I assume everybody scrolls down to check the pictures out first so I will assume that everybody took a good look at them when I write the next few paragraphs.
I did spend some quality build time today. As mentioned I need to scratch build a few things. The major scratch build is the 'plate' that goes on the nose. This looked to me like a battery door cover from a toy or something like that. The original has tabs or something on it. Looking at the pictures it is really hard to make accurate judgements but I came up with something I feel is pretty good. I found a plastic thing from IKEA which I heavily modified. (I put the original item in the picture for comparison) I had to sculpt out the little side tabs by filing the sides. I ground down the sides and middle and inserted the cylinder tab and applied two oblong tabs in the middle. The resister and light bulb may not be the most accurate but are good place holders. I dont think I'll be able to find the correct bulb so I will use the closest thing I can.
The tab around the mouth came from a power cord (industrial type). I ended up grinding the circle to be triangular. I also made the projecting tab into a hook. This piece will have to be molded.
I have a decent plan for the "plug" in the left side of the face. After I build that part I will mold all parts up and finish off the first three masks. I realize there are a few other odds and ends that were glued to the mask and if they are found I will add them. I just want to get the major known items on the first finished pieces.
Okay - I know... just show the pictures!
