Piping (the basis for Cylon Centurion ribbing)

Needle and thread, fabric and pattern *poof* something cool! Many costumes require some sort of sewn element. The info is not specific to Classic Cylon Centurions, but SURE can be helpful for them and many, many others projects. Here you'll find various threads with great info from our members for the hobby of costuming.

I would like to point out a couple things.

1. Depending on the vinyl chosen you may not need to cut it on the bias.
The medium thickness type has little stretch and given that there are no "Hard" corners ( corners found on pillows), You would just need to cut strips from one edge.

2. Piping and welt cord are the same thing.
Piping comes from the clothing, furniture, and home decorating professions.
Welt cord comes from the upholstery profession, And comes in several styles.
