I also hope my Baltar helmet will look like this soon...

Thank's guy's the compliments thankfully received,,i never mentioned it in the previous post but in the above pics you can see were the masking tape i used lifted the paint off but i'll fix it up some time,i'll paint the visor inset flat black again as i oversprayed it second time around, the first time i painted the inset i only made a guess as to what the colour should be i guess i got that bit right then, still wondering about the scale of it,if it is undersized then i would guess that the files for the rest of the armour would be too, anyhow if i do any more Cylon pep work i'll post it up :)
I'LL BE BACK...

Good to see it can be done with the papercraft.

Great work. Can anyone chime in on accuracy of the files?

I have yet to see one in person to place it side by side and inspect it but on the surface it goods very accurate. I haven't studied it with great detail but it looks good.

I'm going to have to build one of these to go with the NBSG version I'm building.

WOW! What an awesome build! from paper to Centurion! :salute:

The only question I have for you, as well as the rest of the builders here, when your helmet is complete (with eye scanner and all)

How do you see when you have it on your head? Nobady has talked about that yet?

When I was a kid my dad bought me two of the original Don Post SW helmets, Darth Vader (Two piece ) and a storm trooper (One piece) of course both of them had dark tinted lenses and you could see out of the helmets pretty good! both of those masks had eye portals but a Centurion has no eye portals..

My other question is about the paint!, Have you tried clear coating?

As for the clear coat don't use an off the shelf clear coat in a spray paint shaker can. It will haze the finish, but if you get an automotive 2 part quality it will work. A clear coat that is made for chrome finish is the best choice.

I'll be able to see through an eye slit directly under the electronics. I'll coat the silver with several coats of car wax after the paint has fully cured and I've buffed it out with a soft cotton buffer.

:cylon: You do amazing work! :salute: :salute: :salute:

and I can see a glimps of some other helmets in the background. did you make those from paper as well?

And from earlier posts I noticed some guy's sugested not to clear coat and the founder sugested you use an automotive 2 part.

My son does touch up work on cars and clear coating can be tricky :wtf: Everything has to be just right and if you have any scatches or imperfections in your work and don't notice it before you clear coat, you permanently seal them in. also you need to be in a dust free environment because dust will fly to your work like a magnet :erk: One last thing is not to touch it untill your clear completely dries because no matter how close it is to cure, if it's not completely cured, the second you touch it your fingerprints will
leave a very noticeable 3d image in your work! :wtf:

Your so talented you probably already knew all that stuff.... :nah:

Again I have to say .......Spectacular work my friend! :cylongold: :cylongold: :cylongold:

If "they" say it can't be done, it just means "they" cant do it.
