*Official* Colonial Turbine (Turbocycle) Thread

One of the coolest things from G1980. They appear as motorcycles to humans, but can convert to fly if Colonial Warriors need to make an airborne getaway.

Screen accurate details:
  • Bikes are a Modified Yamaha MX 175
  • Two bikes were made for the show, and a third 1/2-of-a-bike was made for lift off/flying shots

Well to start the motorcycle that was used to build the mostly styrofoam parts around the frame is a 1979 Yamaha MX 175. These bikes are still easy to find on like eBay or Craigs List. Watch the prices and for a location near your area. Don't pay $500 for a bike 1000 miles away unless it is going to be dropped off dirt cheap. A bike that cost $500 more than is about 50 miles away is cheaper.

Sorry, GC your mistaken in your assumption!

One of the other co-owners of Tombs of Kobol actually bought this for me in February, because it was US-only on eBay. So he kindly sent it to the UK. It had been on my radar for a while and he was in a position to do me a favour.
