That's a great kit you have Ian. I have seen his kits up for auction a few times. Impressive and sharp in detail. I also have the Vt3 emulator. Came with my Kropserkel armour. Amazing doesn't cover it. Has to be the best voice on the fly I know of for a true Cylon sound. Going to see about purchasing the rest of C.O.R.A 's armour in the New Year to go with his fibreglass backpack i got from him already.

Regarding Chroming. Don't know if its too far from you being in Glasgow but its worth giving VMC ltd a call. They are in Cherstey , London. Ask for a guy called Paul or Kevin. They know all about Cylon Chroming as they have done some before. I phoned them about getting my backpack done and they were very helpful. You could arrange a courier to send your armour to them maybe?

I'm going to wait until i have all my armour ready to go in the New Year and I will be going to them myself. Price wise its not cheap but the quality is second to none. I think i was quoted £150 for the backpack on its own but maybe a better deal if its all the armour?

At this moment i'm waiting for my undersuit which is being made by the lovely Cordula in Germany. She is a pleasure to deal with. Finally I got my gloves, which even though are not completely screen accurate will look the part. Just been looking for the boots now. I came across some Georgia Engineer boots which look pretty close to me.

Have you acquired the metal skirt yet? If not look on Whiting & davis. They produce the exact gunmetal and size needed.

Sorry for the long message guys. Everything i know all comes from this site and the incredible input from all the other contributors. I really would not be this far down the road without you all. Still a long way to go but hopefully next year a new Cylon to join the ranks! :byyourcommand:
Thanks mate, i am sure when i am ready i will give them a call and see what they can do for me, still lots of sanding to be done and Vac metalising will be great, i had a local company that can do chrome but they were not sure about chroming Fiberglass so this will be a huge help especially if they have done a Cylon before so not worried about cost so much as long as it's done right and is done well.

have you had work from them? and can you comment on the quality if you have.

Thanks for the Heads up.

Ian...

Hi Ian. No i have not had any work done by VMC Ltd yet. If you look for Nashslash and his Cylon Build Finish topic on here you can see how good the Chroming is by VMC.

Nashslash has Cylon armour in fibreglass and styrene that have all been done by this company. I'm afraid I can't really comment on how good it really is as i have not seen any in the flesh. Nashslash has posted quite a few pics in his build thread though. The pictures of the chromed armour look absolutely brilliant in my opinion.

I did speak to a guy called Paul at VMC Ltd and they were very knowledgeable about what was required. The main piece of information Paul told me was to make sure every bit of armour was as smooth as possible. Hopefully in the New Year i will have some Chromed armour done by VMC and i will be able to give a first hand review.

Yea, I've been checking ebay every couple of days for the past 2 or 3 years with zero results. How the hell did you find this one? I'm willing to pay top dollar for one too.

Thanks Red-Eye for the congrats. Serpentine ; I couldn't believe it myself finding the belt for sale. I too have searched high and low all over the Internet for this belt. To be honest I had given up on finding a GM POWER belt. I was actually looking for a cine 60 one.! The listing on ebay didn't even have GM in the name. I just typed vintage cine battery belt and hey presto!! Talk about being lucky the auction ended that day too.

I was half expecting the bidding to jump sky high as it came to an end but obviously no one knew about its significance to us Cylons..!!

I hope you get to find one soon though as your time and dedication deserve a reward. If I come across another one I will give you a heads up for sure. :byyourcommand:
