Scratch built scanner holder old school

Post by Skullbeast » Sun Mar 04, 2012 4:26 am

This was possible thanks to Dale and his sharing of knowledge and lookielous at the real thing.
Ok I did a tracing on styrene of the shape of my eye in my helmet. For an exact fit. I then made that tracing a quarter of an inch longer and a half inch deep.
Next I replicated the scanner shape to work with my eye.
060 black styrene 8 layers to make the frame then some dremeling. And a back cap.

Yeah that is it, and it looks like to me they made it in layers like you did, and then made resin castings.

The music is Galactica, and the video demo is awesome. I think the song is Adama's Theme.
