CYLON undersuit on order :-)

Post by 80sKidCylon » Mon May 01, 2006 12:34 pm

We gotta send a million thanks to Dale for making this avail to the public. Finally an authentic replica of the body 2 piece undersuit with the ribbing! We will be sending in payment today. It's not cheap. $1,000 BUT worth every fracking penny. Looks to take 3 to 5 weeks. We will post a slew of pictures of it from all angles when we get it!! This is the way to go if you want authenticity and can spare the bread.

Umm Dale wife hates you for turning me onto this project. J/K

The seamstress didn't tell me her answering machine didn't take messages. I left 3 messages, and finally after not hearing from her for 2 weeks drove down to drop off the balance of the materials. That was a week ago, so I need to call her, and talk to her, not the answering machine that doesn't work, and find out how it was going. She said it would take about 2 weeks, so I am thinking any day now.

Get some foam padding to fill it out. You need a massive Cylon, not a wimpy look.

We don't want an anorexic CYLON. We will bulk him up with bubble wrap and or with foam padding too.

Also the standard wanna be Cylon mannequin isn't going to cut it. My mannequin was stretched about 6 inches in the legs, and about 4 inches in the arms. Then foam was wrapped around the legs, arms, and torso to bulk him out like a giant. Note the tape used to hold the foam down.

You know I have been asking the same thing myself. He phone issue is starting to get to me. She never answers, and I just haven't found the time to go there to see what is going on. I'll try to email her, and see what happens.
If you would like, I can send you my replica suit.

Thanks for the offer to send out your replica undersuit. Before we say yes, Can you post a side to side pictorial of the original to the replica for comparison purposes. Feel free to post the JPEGs here as this will help other replica CYLON builders who only want the best screen accurate undersuit. We've been getting some emails so we want to lessen our email volume.

I don't have any detail photo's of the suit, with out the armour. I can break the Cylon down, and redress with the replica suit, and then take photos. I'll do the same with the screen used suit also. Great idea, never thought of that. Whew....many hours of work ahead now.

Hey Dale,
No need to go that far unless you want to. I think 1 jpeg of both the original and replica undesuit side by side would suffice. As long you watermark the photos e.g. REPLICA on this side, ORIGINAL this side. This will help others and ourself differentiate the two. We look forward to the pics and do keep us updated as we have some business trip planning to do. We hope to get the replica outfit out of the way before we leave for business/vacation. Thanks for the help.

I have thought about taking photos in detail of your suit, and thought it might be a good idea to get a photo or two of the original also. Just your question helped light the fire on what I need to do. I hope I can go get your suit and shot it this weekend also. If it is done.

Thank you Dale as we have so much stuff coming and going. The wife and I decided to not buy any more unnecessary things till we sell our other stuff. Room and space concerns :-) Trying to finalize some RE stuff too. FYI we are so looking forward to the undersuit. Our mannequin is ready for display. Hope you will sell more of these undersuits.
