Cylon Helmet

Post by JoeSixPack » Fri Mar 10, 2006 7:51 pm

What are the dimensions for the cylon helmet. Height, Width, Depth and scanner width. I would like to make my own suit from scratch and if I had these dimensions I could come up with a pretty close enough for Hollywood suit. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I made a few measurements, then ran paint on them.

That would be great to see some of the step by step work you do. Good luck.

On the subject of helmets, what is the opinion of board members as to the best one out there.
I am leaning towards purchasing a Kropkerkel one as he provided the chrome finish, redeye and warble, but there are others out there.

I have a preference for an idealised helmet, that is one which is made in one pull as opposed to the split halves. Also a hero style sans the pinholes above the eyes.

I have seen helmets advertised on eBay both here in Oz and in the UK, but my eye is not good enough yet to spot any flaws which may jump out with further familiarity.

Knowing that with Star Wars the naming of prop makers is frowned upon, where there name is not in the public domain please use initials or PM me.

Thankyou, Patrick

What I can tell you is that the screen used are 2 shell pieces that are seamed together with chrome tape. The one piece fiberglass units are screen acurate. C.O.R.A. makes a great helmet, just drop him a PM, and he will get back to you.

Thanks Dale, I appreciate the advice. I will follow up that and drop C.O.R.A. a line.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/CYLON-HELMED-INC ... dZViewItem

He don't outbid me on this - I need a helmed!

Plus it comes with a wearing-bag! Ok I will stop picking on someone elses English when I can't put two words together in another language. But in all seriousness, what is everyone elses opinion?

It seems to be spray painted, but not chromed. It looks solid however, has the LED fitted, and otherwise seems accurate. Thoughts??

Why even bother having a Cylon helmet if it's not chromed properly? UGH!
