This is a bad proto type. Brian will be working on the keeper. Just a study model for now.

Not bad for a prototype.

It is off in many ways, and lacks many details to it. If push came to shove it could be details out, and used, but this isn't my proudest work. Over all it is a very hard piece to work on because of todays plastic thickness over the plastic that was used back in 1978. Yes the builders then had some problems that the camera didn't see, but me and Brian did hands on. Believe me I crack a few eggs just to get to this level.

Here's the rework. It's amazing how much time and attention is needed for such a small part. I took what Dale did and basically inverted it. The 'eggs' we used were too pointy so I turned it around. It gave me the measurements and even the seam line to work with for spacing (you can see this near the eyes where the vents are and the ammo boxes sit. I needed a crap load of a very small part for the muzzle so I pressed it into clay to make multiples. It worked good enough. The wires are copper wire that I cut to fit each junction. Lots of small drilling and gluing was needed for this part. Without trying to write too much all that matters is pics of the near complete part.

The next muzzles will be mounted somewhat differently so that it fits the eyes better...

Really you used the back of the egg? I can't tell, but I tried that method, and it looked to flat. In the photos they look right on. Great work.

I was the Alpha builder, and Brian was the Beta builder. Now we are going main stream and sending the dogs out to chase the cats.

Not sure I like the whole... "Beta" thing.

Mounting mouths tonight so I can get spacing down between the eyes and muzzle with the new skulls. They need to be painted prior to putting the fur on.

Haven't you heard of Alpha testing, and a Beta release. That is all the reference is about. My build clearly had issues, and the learning curve was made in the next stage.
