Daggit Map

Post by Cylon-Knight » Thu Apr 21, 2011 12:45 am

Here it is -like I promised- a map of the Daggit's parts. Cylons and Daggit Lovers... enjoy!
*What's that?* It's not DONE!? That's right - PM me info and I'll update the map until we have Muffit all figured out. SO SAY WE ALL!

NOTE: The full attachment is a 2.5 MB file. It is a GREAT pic by my great friend of the Muffit at the Battlestar Galactica Exhibition. Yep, the real deal to map out - not a fan made daggit! w00t

#10 makes me think of some details that are on the Colonial lasers. I always thought #4 was just a nail. Awesome list, and great pic. Thanks for putting this together!!! :salute:

The eyes balls to me look like vacuforms. Dental splint plastic will do the trick. Get me a diameter and I'll see what I can do.

Keep in mind that I don't think this daggit in the picture was the primary daggit used on BSG. I think this one was made for G80, and probably was using parts that were formed from the original. That's my theory anyway.

@GoldCylon - what kit is "88 mm German Ammo" from? What is the manufacturer, scale and part number(s)? Let me know so I can update my file and re-post an improved map.

@Lt Rhea - yeah that pic is defiantly not Muffit from BSG (1978).
But it is a screen used Daggit (per the BSG Exhibition). I think you are right he is from G1980 - one of the two from G1980: Galactica Discovers Earth, Part 1

The fur was all redone for the new suits probably just a necessity... Monkey pee  wear and tear on the fur, and what not. Possibly so the two would match. I would think they wouldn't want them to look WAY different.
I would think they'd use some of original 1978 facial / hard plastic parts over. Why do extra work/spend extra money - when TOO MUCH MONEY being spent was what killed Battlestar Galactica (1978).

The thing that Universal loved about Gal 1980 was most everything was left overs from 78, and 79. They didn't have to go out make make many new things, and making a new Daggit suit wasn't in the cards at all. Maybe replace the fur clued on the outside of the suit, but leaving the same suit underneath. Remember that Galactica 1980 was a low to no budget show compared to Battlestar Galactica on average with padding ran 1 Million episode while Galactica 1980 ran about 100 K per episode.

Does 1 3/4 sound right. So it fits inside the bevel.

Your closer to it. I will go with your judgement. It appears that 2 would not pass through or does it rest on the bevel. Is 2 the Inner diameter?

I'll make you some clear hemispheres once were sure.

I'll double check the measurements and also pick a caliber to start working on exact measurements.

It looks like there's a lip on the opening of the bezel. Does the eye bubble sit on that?
