I just read there will be a new "V" (Visitors) re-boot from ABC. Below is the info. Everything old is new again.

Robo could take those space-lizards! "FREEZE PUNKS!" lol

______________
ABC Develops New V

ABC is developing a new adaptation of V, the 1980s miniseries about alien lizards visiting Earth, Variety reported.

The miniseries spawned a second mini and a TV spinoff, written by The 4400 co-creator and executive producer Scott Peters.

Warner Brothers TV, which was behind the original miniseries, is once again producing the project, which was sold as a spec script to ABC.

Peters is set to executive-produce, along with HDFilms principal Jace Hall.

Hall, the former head of Warner Brothers' video-game division, who has worked on titles including F.E.A.R., will help expand V into other platforms, including gaming.

The original V was an allegory of the Holocaust and Nazi Germany. Peters said he won't duplicate that concept, except that the new V will still focus on what happens when the masses have blind faith in their leaders.

The new V will center on Erica Evans, a Homeland Security agent with an aimless son who's got problems. When the aliens arrive, her son gloms on to them, causing tension within the family. As in the original V, several storylines will unfold simultaneously.

As in the '80s version, the show will open with an enormous army of spaceships hovering over the world's major cities.

Original V writer-producer-director Kenneth Johnson recently attempted to revive V as V: The Second Generation but is not involved in the Peters version.

Man this sounds like a 80's flash day with all these great movies, and shows from the 80's being rehashed. Hope it turns out better than some other spin offs that didn't make it far, or in some cases like "The Robinson Lost In Space" never air, but the pilot was filmed. I have that DVD, and man it was all wrong. Jon Wo was off on this one, and WB or what ever the name is now owns the rights to the show.

I found this just now... was wondering about Robo after seeing some of SIR ROUND's Robocopy collection pics on the forum here.

WHAT WE KNOW SO FAR:
The movie simply titled just "RoboCop" will be a reboot and totally unrelated to the original, taking place in a entirely new universe. They have completed the short treatment but havn't completed the full script yet. No casting or pretty much anything will be done until the script is completed.

As we all know, unlike Batman, Robo doesn't have any source material such as a comic to fall back on, so if they ignore the movies they are truly starting with a completely empty slate. Characters, names, places and designs. All new. So far they have only completed the screenplay so it is too early to say if they truly will drop ALL locations and characters, so there is still some small hope that Alex Murphy will return to fight ED-209 once more.

Yes, I just hope they don't mess with the suit to much. Or go totally CGI.

I did see the ROBOCOP films, all three of them, experienced the simulation ride attraction at San Francisco's Pier 39 and watched the animated series on VHS or DVD but never saw the television series when it came out.

In my imagination that is...I can just see robot machines singing the songs of the OAK RIDGE BOYS, STATLER BROTHERS, HEE HAW GOSPEL QUARTET such as the following...

Robocop "Bass Singer"
Cylon Centurion "Baritone Singer"
B9 Robot "Tenor Singer"
Terminator Series 800 "Baritone Singer"

Just thought I'd crack anyone up if they can visualize this in their imagination too...

That isn't bad, but the Terminator Endo I haven't heard speak before. Yes we have heard it speak with the Arnold look to it, but I think you get what I mean. That would be a different thing to hear or maybe cat fight might be easier on the hears.
