It's no secret that Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning know cosmic, and come May, the writing team return to Dynamite Entertainment to launch an all-new "Battlestar Galactica" series celebrating the sci-fi classic's 35th Anniversary.

"Growing up in the seventies, I was hooked on sci-fi," Lanning told CBR in 2012 when the pair last spent time in the BSG Universe. "As a kid I couldn

epic Fail! How can you advertise this as Classic BSG and include Dr Zee in the storyline?? another example of people not really knowing the source material. Even worse, it's a complete meld of BSG and G1980. Starbuck, Apollo and Dr Zee.

the artowrk on those overs look great, but the story is a fail like the rest of the Dynamite Classic comic stories. Even their G1980 reboot was lacking.

Well, though it does sound excruciatingly lame, Dr. Zee's appearance with the classic cast could be explained by the use of his time travel thingy to go back in time to prevent something bad from occurring in the future. Pretty rank-and-file science fiction trope - that would be my guess, anyways...

Ah, looks like this comic series is going to be what G1980 always was intended to be.

I have read trivia for G1980 it was to be Apollo lost in time (with Zee technology) and Starbuck helping him from the present... But they went cheap and the show turned out to be "what it was" ... but the original idea later became the series Quantum Leap.

Sorry, but I'm not the story editor!

By looking at the cover, it's clearly focused on Classic BSG so it belongs in here.

If you don't like it, please contact Dynamite Entertainment and don't blame me, thank you!

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear, but the comment was addressed to Dynamite. I realize you are just posting the link and information. That was not addressed to you.

Again, I'm sorry for the confussion

I'll still get it. I actually kind of like G1980... lame as it is, it is still BSG stuff.

Cover art preview for the upcoming Classic BSG issue #2 has been published at Dynamite Entertainment's website.

Have a look at the Alex Ross cover art (to be released at June 5):

And there'll be a "cute" cover version again by Chris Eliopoulos:
