The UFO Incident Alien on Battlestar Galactica & Buck Rogers

Post by Red Eye » Wed Aug 08, 2012 5:44 am

Dale suggested me to share this information originally posted by member "Artie Lemos" on the forums at Resin Illuminati. Enjoy!

THANK YOU for posting this information!!!!! I'm a newbie here and what luck on my part to find this thread as my first posting. I am the owner of that particular head and have been curious as to why it was repainted flesh color and the eyes detailed. As a fan of the UFO INCIDENT, I had searched for one these masks for a very long time. I finally scored this one a few years ago and was told it was indeed the hero mask but had since been reworked for another NBC production. In fact, I was under the assumption that it was done for PROJECT BLUE BOOK. To find out that it was for BSG & BR is a treat. The craziest part is that the rework was done by David Ayers. I've known David for 20 years! I bought a Close Encounters alien head from him (another of my favorites) and never thought of asking him about it. What a strange coincidence! The mask is still in EXCELLENT condition. I'll be sure to post pics soon!

Y'know, I vaguely remember that one. Was it on Carillon in the casino somewhere?
I may appear unoccupied to you, but at the molecular level, I'm really quite busy.

Yes, you're right.

You have to check out Marcel's brilliant article on Galactica.tv for additional info: http://www.galactica.tv/battlestar-gala ... ctica.html

It's a shame that most of the footage shot for the aliens ended on the cutting room floor.

Time to revive an old thread.

The owner of the original mask finally posted some photos:

I wonder what happened to the rest of the Carillon Casino Alien masks...

Looks like the present owner has taken good care of it.

Good to know it's in good hands.
