So here's the story:
I had cylon helmets I wanted chromed. A board member here says he can do it. I thought I would check it out and so I sent him the helmet with return postage paid. It wasn't the best helmet I had as I didn't want to spend too much time cleaning one up if the chrome didn't look good. I sent him a helmet with no grill in it. As many of you know I took two vacu-formed halves and fiberglassed into the face plate. The visor area had dimples in it which needed to be filled in and painted. So I sent this helmet to Morrilton, AR.
Time goes by and trajedy stuck his home which sucked. He claimed he couldn't do the project any more. Simple enough I just wanted the helmet back. Time goes by and he gives me excuse that he needed to get paid to send the helmet back...remeber I sent along return postage. So finally he claims to have sent the helmet...nothing for a week. After many messages back and forth we concluded that it got lost in the mail. Sucks for me right??!! okay, not the end of the world but I still didn't feel right about it. Until I saw this:

Yup - that is my helmet with an AWEFUL paint job which destroyed the value! I am assuming "cylonproject2000" is our very own VAGABOND (or John)

John - I am only accusing you of being a liar based upon this evidence... if I am mistaken and this really isn't you or something weird happened then consider this an absolute apology - however if this is you and send this off to someone else then I hope SHAME will do what it needs to do to you.

And if you are winning bidder "a***5" then I hope you dont pay for the helmet.

I actually saw this auction in a RARE search oh eBay yesterday. The starting bid was .99 cents and the current bid at the time was $1.30. I thought about bidding... but it would need parts and a lot of T.L.C. to fix it up and what would I do with a second helmet at this time so I passed. I thought it was CORA helmet (just noticed it wasn't a Krop).

For one of our own to stoop so low is unacceptable. PM on its way to you Hand-Schaub.

well looks like auction ended by seller due to being "sold"... what happened to the 3 days... looks like... busted... to me.. i can never understand how people can be sooo dishonest... i hope if it was him and he did infact stop the auction ,that his is sending it back to you...good luck

I think it actually ran its course. I know it sounds kind of stupid of me but I almost would have bought it just to have one of the sx helmets I lost this year. I think the helmet world is telling me something...

speaking of which, I'm nearly finished with my new sculpt helmet. I'm going to mold it and cast it in SilPak or the like. Should make clean up and chroming very easy. I wonder how many of the new ones I'll loose.

Have to hate a deal gone bad. I have actually spoke with this memeber but not for some time now. I believe it was back just before DC 2009.

Justice will be served in one way or another. This kind of garbage goes on in the 501st quite a bit. Actually, it exisits in all prop based forums. DAMN shame though.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour.... this guy needs to be named and shamed on as many forums as possible. Ebay is full of thieves and con artists, and unfortunately so is the prop industry.
