Very cool! I love it when our hobbies can be used to reach out to others. As an art teacher I interject Cylons in my lessons regularly!
tejanovader wrote::cylon: I am taking the raider and basestar to an art camp in a couple of weeks. The raider will be the subject of detailing and weathering, as well as making and using lighted effects. I will keep you posted. :cylon:

:cylon: As I have been working on BESSIE from CARS pretty extensively, I have left the Raider alone for awhile, but I did address another one of the things that bothers me about the kit decals. It may just be my bad red eye, but it seems the emblem on the side of the raider is supposed to be raised. Does anyone else agree? Anyway, here is the process of applying what is, to me, a better emblem. :cylon:

:cylon: I know I have been gone a heck of a long time, but I picked up where I left off with my raider. I had life issues, of course, and so near completion, I tended to let the building process go. Anyway, I am working towards final completion and thought I would post some new pics. Below are photos (sorry for image quality) of work I have done the past few days. I built this model way back when I was a child and just hated the seams. Older and more capable, I can finally deal with that awful flaw every modeler must deal with. LOL! Anyway, I hope this pleases the empire. :cylon:

Starboard side, glued strip. Ready for sanding and painting. Yay! No seam!!

Rear view. Port side, with glued and unglued strips. The area between the wings also has the 2nd skin, cut to shape and painted the same color as the model. It does leave a raised area where the skin stops, but I think it simply looks like a panel and sure as heck beats the seam!

Using the "2nd Skin" idea. I found a strip of polystyrene (Evergreen Brand 3mm), and placed it around the edges.

:cylon: Here is a circuit I have built for my Viper model. I wish I had done it for the Raider!! It creates a vibrating, flickering effect so the propulsion is more than just the actual lighting. I am going to combine this and another circuit (with a 10mf of 50v capacitor) for the Galactica's propulsion units. I am working on the completed kit and hope to show pics very soon. :cylon:
