Re: 3 Foot Salzo Galactica
Did you free hand draw this is CAD or what ever else program you used or was it a combo of scanned known parts to make the 3D file. Sorry I am not fluid in 3D printing terms so excuse my incorrect wording.
Also if you could place your link up on how prospective buyers can find your offerings.
Thanks, and this is awesome.

Re: 3 Foot Salzo Galactica
Thanks Gold Cylon. I had this part commissioned for me. I wish I were this fluent in CAD. It was done by a friend of mine using the 123D design program. It was all done "free hand", no scans of parts used. There are currently four parts available for the 1/2 SS Mike Salzo Galactica model. We have the bridge (one drilled, one not), both upper domes, and the nose piece.
All are available on Shapeways. Here's a link.

Oh, and some cool recognition for the work we put into them-

Re: 3 Foot Salzo Galactica
It has been some time since I posted updates here, almost 2 years! I have worked on this kit on/off for that length of time. I am proud to say she will be done in a day or two.
This is what I have done. Over 300 windows drilled out to accept .5mm fiber optic for lighting. The bridge itself uses over 30 strands of .25mm fiber optic for its windows. There are 61 LEDs lighting the model, 16 for the hull, 2 for the landing bays, and 43 (!) for the engines. I used 34 white LEDs, 3 red LEDs, and 24 flickering blue LEDs. They are all powered by a 6v wall plug. She currently tips the scales at a back breaking 19 pounds!
Bare resin, before paint-
Black light blocking coat-
Grey primer coat-
White color coat-
And here is a short video showing the lights and engines. Note that the fibers have not been trimmed yet. They still stand proud of the hull until painting is completed. They will be snipped off flush after the final color coat is applied.

I was wondering why it looked so big on Facebook. Now I see why. It is Mike S kit. Great work on the build,
