RC BSG Landram project

Post by groupleaderzeta » Mon Dec 31, 2012 1:12 pm

I am thinking of converting my spare spygear ATV 360 into a landram. It would be radio controlled and have a cam behind the drivers windshield. Using the headset you would see what the driver would see if you were in his seat.

Most likely I will do the cargo version, I can always add the turret later.

What size would it be, and what would a "ball park" cost be?

around 13 inches long, 7 1/2 inches wide, and about 6 inches tall (without turret)

just a paper mockup..

COST: well if I factor in the going rate for the ATV-360, my labor and parts. probably be in the neighborhood of $200-$300, won't be sure until the project is done.

check out ebay for ATV-360, they range from $100-$250

Hello everyone,
I have decided to build a Special RC Landram from the classic battlestar galactica TV show.

I will be using a Spygear ATV-360 toy as a starting point.

I have made a bit of progress on the ram project. Minor setbacks of weather (its been in the 20's here) and family. So here I will show what progress has been made. The chassis has been set on hold until weather temp comes up to at least 40. I still have many details to add to the body but the overall shape is done. Many thanks to Revell-Fan of Zealot hobby forum for the templates, extra pics and the ID plate.

Currently working on the bumps over the windshield on the roof, the round vent on the back, and the hood thing.

When these are done, I would say major details are done and clean up begins to ready for paint
