1/2 Studio Scale TOS BSG - Has it been done?
Has anyone undertaken, or is currently in the process of undertaking, the construction of a 1/2 studio scale TOS Battlestar? I've heard rumors for years but have never seen anything real. Just curious...

I may appear unoccupied to you, but at the molecular level, I'm really quite busy.

Whoops - 1/2 studio scale. I put it in the title but I guess I forgot to put it in the main text. Fixed it...GoldCylon wrote:1/2 scale? As in 1/2 mile long? Or 1/2 studio scale?

Well also me reading from my iPhone. Ack I over looked that. I saw some work on a builder making one a while back. Maybe even finished but I have no idea on details or even where to look. It was awesome looking and a bit different because of misscaled replacement parts. Sorry no help in where to find it.

Found someone named "bobs56" over at Starship Modeler forums who is doing one in the UK. It's very nicely done and it looks like he's been pretty successful remaining faithful to the scale. Don't know if he ever plans on kitting it out, though.

When I was a kid, I made a Galactica out of cereal boxes. The Mattel ships were perfect scale to it! Later, I also made one out of layered foam core and all painted up which was actually pretty awesome!
I talked to Bryan Ono of eFX about 4-5 years ago about a Galactica model being offered by them. He said they were kicking around the idea but it's clear now it's not going to happen. Heck, all I want is that Cylon Helmet they were going to offer and even that doesn't look like it's going to happen either.
I would love to own a 3' (Three Foot) long Galactica model!!! It would be a perfect size IMO. Looks like I need to build one myself!!!

A few guys were going to make a replica casting kit avaiable a few years ago. Not sure if they ever finished the trek of making it so. I'd love to have one myself.
