LastBattlestar's studio scale Galactica

Post by LastBattlestar » Fri Feb 11, 2011 11:22 pm

Hi all and thanks once again for the warm welcome!

I'm posting the link to my Galactica build over at http://www.resinilluminati.com as it would be an enormous task to recreate it all here. Please have a look and also around the rest of the site for some mind-bending sci fi and other genre projects. Feel free to sign up and share your builds- it's a very appreciative audience. :) The dedicated Galactica forum in which my thread is located is also a wealth of great research topics which will be of interest to you.

Anyway, enough of the waffle, check out my G-build here: http://www.resinilluminati.com/showthread.php?t=1203

It's a long one, almost a blog of sorts, but I hope you enjoy seeing my progress. It's ain't over yet, not by a long shot!

Mike :salute:

Ah, sorry about that, but it appears to be the G-builders forum only. Hey, join up anyway. Tell them I sent you! :)

Hello friends, a quick update for you. The first of the new batch of accurate greeblies are going on along with tons of tiny styrene chips and TB-1 wire tubing. Still a long way to go, but I'm hopeful this recent overhaul will be the last!

That just knocks my socks off. That is awesome Mike, very awesome. The side view with the light on over the top reminds me so much of they very opening seconds of Saga. Great job man, great job.

Hi guys, not a lot of progress recently (I saw a 1:1 Artoo yesterday...uh, oh! ;) ), but I've nearly finished the detailing on the rear exhaust plate. Man, there is a TON of fine styrene strip and sheet detail in there and it's a lot of work. I can't wait to primer this baby up!

At first glance I didn't notice all this styrene you were talking about, (smaller pic) then I began the search, and Holly Cow you are not kidding. A lot of detail stripes of styrene work inside the exhaust plates. Whewww that is a job. Awesome work.

Hi guys, here are a few more progress pics. We're into Autumn now and cooler weather, so that means more time at the model bench. I'm slowly getting there. I hope to display the Galactica at our annual SAPMA show in October, so am working on getting the hero side (port) and top fairly complete, possibly in primer for that!

I love watching this build. I do have a question. Is the round disk on top from the Vostock 1?
