I had to say goodbye to one of my Cylon Puppies...

Post by Cylon-Knight » Wed Mar 12, 2014 6:39 pm

Some of you already know about this from personal emails, but I wanted to post it up on the forum as well... it helps me to write about it.

Mrs. Cylon-Knight and I have had a tough week that ended around
1am today when we had to say goodbye to our sweet, little Mollie.
We were at her side as she left this world peacefully.

Last Tuesday we rushed Mollie to the E.R. Vet around 2am and found out that she had advanced congestive heart failure.
She was treated and responded very well. But the treatment was all that was possible, and her take home pills were as much
and as powerful as possible. We knew then it was only a matter of time till her body would betray her. A day, a week, month... year?
We could only hope for the most time possible.

She enjoyed a full week more of comfort, hugs, kisses and constant attention... before we had to let her go so she would not suffer.
We inherited Mollie when my wife's Grandma passed away. So she was twice as special to Mrs. C-K and I and we were honored to have her.
Mollie was around 14 years old... we could only ever guess at her age from photos. Grandma didn't have her birthday on record we could find.

Mollie was one of my three silly "Cylon Puppies" and excited about my build...
she always came over to help with and inspect my work. ;)
I'm always taking photos of everything... and I am so glad I do...
I have these wonderful memories of my fuzzy friend and my costume
will always remind me of her.

That is a very long time, she has a remarkable resemblance with daggit.
My sympathies.

Oh man, that's sad news indeed!

Rest in peace, Mollie.

John I am sorry to hear this. We spoke last week the day after your visit to the ER with Mollie. I should have asked how she was doing since then, but sorry she is no longer with you, and your wife. I :salute: Mollie for being the good Cylon puppy she was.

Thanks Dale and Doug.

Yes Dale, after we talked Mollie was stable and acted normal for the week while on her meds. Then like someone flipped a switch - the meds couldn't help any more. Crazy stuff.

John,
I know the pain as I went through it late last year with my 13 yr old kitty. We are all here for you. Always remember, she (and you are surrounded by loving friends.

best wishes,
GZ (Michael)
