Okay, I've had this idea in my mind ever since I saw the nuBSG movie "RAZOR"... since there were no "Skinjobs" or Hybrids to control the Basestars during the First Cylon War, I am maintaining that the Basestars were still under the control of IL-Series Cylons. The question I have is... what would they look like in the nuBSG setting? So, I am opening this up to you all... those who know the Cylons the best.

There is only ONE rule...

The new IL-Series should look real and practical, in the same way that the nuBSG TOS Centurions looked like real robots, and not men in suits. That is the one and only rule to the design. So, let's see or read what kinds of ideas you can come up with, or what your thoughts are on the possible existence of the IL-Series in nuBSG's past.

But would would IL stand for? There is no Imperious Leader in the new show's make up.

IL = Imperious Leader, just Lucifer, and Sector were the only two referred as IL Series Cylon. They were inline to be come, or qualified to be the Imperious Leader in case some fire on Carillon along with the so called Purple, and Orange squads ever attacked again wiping out the lizard.

So now are we allow to have some type of cross over breed, like Lucifer head, with lizard legs?, or is going to look like some type of battle harden IL Series guy?

I know that IL = Imperious Leader... that's what I was talking about...
The new BSG (RDM's on SciFi Channel) has no Imperious Leader, so why would they be called "IL" in the new show?
And no, you'd not want any lizard aspects either - the new BSG has no lizard race basis for the Cylons, they were created by man. In fact there is no alien races at all - expect for the primitive humans on the second Earth.

We need to dream up new words for the acronym - "IL"

Well... I had actually given this some thought...

For starters, when I refer to IL-Series Cylon, I am referring to the "Lucifer" type. Now, what to do about no Imperious Leader in nuBSG... problem solved... THIS is the nuBSG "Imperious Leader", and here is my explanation...

As things were, pre-war, the chrome Centurions answered to the gold Centurions, and the gold Centurions answered to the IL-Series Cylons, which were designed to act as Basestar command liaisons for the humans, and would be the middle person between the human military commanders and the gold Cylon Centurion leaders... the humans would contact the IL on board a Basestar, and issue mission orders, which the IL would then convey to the gold Centurions, who would in turn, relay the orders to its unit, and carry the orders out to completion. When the First Cylon War broke out, the IL's took full control of the Basestars they were on, and became the sole command authority for the Cylons, until the end of the war. I hope this makes sense, the way I explained it.

Well I kind of like this design, both Cylon, and IL

Wow... that Centurion kicks all kinds of arse, but IMHO, that Imperious Leader looks a bit too much like something from the Star Wars universe.

Yeah I'll give it the Star Wars look, but many of the original concept art work was drawl up by players from both BSG, and SW. Looks like the same favor crossed over again.
