The HD DVD camp got a huge boost today with Universal Studios Home Entertainment's inevitable 'Battlestar Galactica' HD DVD announcement.
According to the studio, the complete first season and mini-series of Ron Moore's re-imagining of the 1980's TV series will be packed onto a six-disc set that will land in stores on December 4. The set will be presented in 1.78:1 wide screen anamorphic video and include a pair of audio options: Dolby True HD 5.1 lossless and Dolby Digital Plus 5.1.
There will be no shortage of supplemental materials spread across all the discs, although the only new material appears to be picture-in-picture commentaries on a couple select episodes. Below is a disc-by-disc breakdown of what you can expect.
