The influence of greek mythology on BSG Charicters

Post by tomb139 » Fri Dec 01, 2006 1:28 pm

I have noticed that the charicters in BSG seem to be derived from a Greek source. Adama is Zeus with his son obvously being Apollo. both god and charicter shair the same relation.
Star buck is Artimis the goddess of the hunt. i may be mistaken that her totem animal is a stag... think a buck in space or a... startbuck. it might be a bit of a streach.
the cheif is Hephestious a builder of wonders
the presedent is Hera
Baltar is a cylon in my opinion... well the first one and thus the clyon god . Gaia is the earth mother. Gaius could be a male derivitive of the concept. balter being a computer genius...
their are other i ahve in mind but im at work... so think about it...

Your on the right track, Glen Larson the creator of the original series did have a mytlogical type of setting in mind with the 1978 TV show. Some of the original film footage from the first episode, not the TV movie premier was filmed in Egypt.
