My namesake lives... in the Azarian collection!
Rather unexpected, I stumbled upon this very interesting site: http://www.azariancollection.com.
Among original props and costumes from Batman, Superman, Lost in Space, Star Trek and Star Wars, they do have a quite impressive collection of screen-used items from both Battlestar Galactica as well as Galactica 1980, including:
- Red Eye Cylon helmet,
- Sheba costume,
- Cylon pistol,
- Colonial Warrior blaster,
- Cylon rifle,
- Pocket blaster from "Galactica 1980" (which looks like a test model to me)
- Starbuck's white uniform from "War of the Gods",
- white Colonial Warrior blaster from "War of the Gods"/"Greetings from Earth"/"Galactica discovers Earth"
- Adama's dress uniform (which is wrongly described, it's Apollo's wedding dress from "Lost Planet of the Gods" really)

Cool stuff! Great post Red Eye
However with all the money they have to get that stuff, I would think they could afford a better camera! HA

The Red Eye helmet was offered to me buy about 1 year ago, but the asking price was way over the top. $10K was the price I was told, but then found out it sold for 6K, but glad to see where it is now at. Thanks for the posting that John guy is very interesting guy, with a great over all collection, but I think he has jacked up some of the prices in value a bit.

Adama's dress uniform is awesome. That is such a great design. Glad to see that it is safe and sound in his collection.
It would seem... that it is in the bathroom as Adama is getting ready for work lol

I just spoke via email with John about Adama's uniform, and a few other items. Adama's uniform isn't in the bathroom, but in storage. I guess he isn't working anymore since the show was canceled.

Do you also know if the scanner of the Red Eye helmet still functions?

He was in the bathroom (below). And I think he "dropped a bomb" on the Cylons! hahaha LOL
That's too funny.
Tell John to stop by ByYourCommand.net's forum. There is a bunch of Cylons to see his colonial stuff heehee

Wouldn't you need the belt? Or... I guess... you could wire it up to some other power supply. That would be cool if it still worked - that would make the price more like you were talking about GoldCylon. But still 10K for just one head... even an iconic one like "Red Eye" still a bit much.Red Eye wrote:Do you also know if the scanner of the Red Eye helmet still functions?

Re: My namesake lives... in the Azarian collection!
I recall the helmet was being sold with a working scanner removed. The scanner was going to an other screen used helmet that was missing the scanner. I do recall an other collector had the Red Eye scanner because of an extra switch that just hung out the back side of the helmet. The switch thrown cause the eye scanner to stop scanning, and then faded off after a short period on time. That sounds like what Red Eye did to me when he was killed. The two Red Eye items are separated by 3000 miles. The scanner in the LA area of Cal, and the helmet in the northeast region of the East Coast.Red Eye wrote:Do you also know if the scanner of the Red Eye helmet still functions?

Or it could be Cy's setup - from Galactica 1980. His eye stopped too, right?
Maybe they are one-in-the-same???

Here's what Chris Pappas wrote about the stopping eye scanner:
"There was one circuit that modified with the stop capability; flip a switch and the movement stops where it is, pull the power and fade to black.
For Cy coming to life in G1980, the positive power to the lamps was intermittently interrupted and connected to get the effect."
This special scanner was first used on Red Eye as we see him in his final moments after Apollo blasted the pogees out of him.
