Viper Stick Grip

Post by sharpstick » Fri Jan 18, 2013 6:31 am

There was a replica of a Viper's grip/stick on ebay made by a company called Metalcraft by Blair. The grip was not drilled so you would have to drill it out if you wanted to use it in your car. The markings for "fire", "turbo" and "IM" also looked like cheap stickers. Other than that, it looked like a pretty cool prop. The starting bid was $58.00. Just curious if anyone has seen one in person before.

I've not seen one in person, no... but have you seen this past auction - link above? It has some good info on the flight stick's origin.

Do you have a eBay link? I couldn't find anything but toy vintage joysticks.

My phone won't let me copy a link but try searching under completed auctions.

So could these be modified to use as a gearshift knob?

The original yes the kit prob not as resin does not hold up well.

I have not seen this kit however, is it made of metal? Does it have an eBay auction number?

Found it did a little online checking and as suspected they are made of resin. In my opinion they would not last 5 mins on a car as a shifter. Even the ads states the buttons are not meant to be used or moved as they fall off easily. Below is from their website.

Heres how the stick should look with my original which is actually 2 pieces upper and lower. Kinda cool IMHO. GC1

Goldcylon1, ever think of offering resin casts of your stick? or is the replica about he price you'd charge if you did?
