Okay, so last night ROCKED!
...and I took some notes ;)

A collector showed up to sell a Don Post C-3PO statue. He really didn't want to, was on the fence of really wanting to keep it but looking for fast money to keep his family secure, etc.

Joe (the owner of PiH) brought in a special guest to help the owner decide about keeping it or selling it... Don Post!!
Turns out the owner had C-3PO #60 of just under 500 that were made. Don said 1-100 were gold plated, the rest just a tinted electroplate. Dude had a GOLD ONE! After thinking it over he kept it. Too cool.

Then they had Ve Niell on (the woman judge from FaceOff, if you saw that show). Academy award winning makeup artist.
She has a charity of horses for children to ride who never would/could before and was looking to sell some of her stuff in storage in a barn to raise money for the charity - and let the barn be used as a barn again - not a storage locker.

She had Bettlejuice props!
The couch from the house after they redecorated it.
$1,000 est - sold for $1,500

She also had the famous "Bettlegeuse" coffin lid. The only one of its kind that blew away to introduce Bettlejuice.
Starting bid $3,000
Sold for $5,000

TRIVIA!
-The name on the coffin lid is spelled the way it is as Bettlejuice is named after the star Bettlegeuse, the second brightest in the constellation Orion
-Bettlejuice's skin and hair are both pale yellow - NOT white

Next item they talked about was a possible TOS Star Trek Type I Phaser
George Takei (Mr Sulu) and a Star Trek prop expert, John were on the case to see if the Phaser a musician had was authentic as the market is flooded with replicas ... a REAL one is RARE.

-Originals were crude, made to be seen on small screen tv from about 10 feet away
-Vintage Velcro is different than new Velcro (Didn't know that!)
-The diamond plate on the top was vintage, very common in 60s - but not now-a-days

They found that it WAS AUTHENTIC!!!! $30,000 - $50,000  ... less than 10 in the world left like it.

At auction the Phaser had a $20,000 starting bid and sold for $65,000!

After that they went on to some special effects items and X-Men (X2) items. Very cool stuff! Another thing I learned about this time was "C.O.A." = Certificate of Authenticity... Now I can use all these "buzz words" like a pro haha ;)

HEADS UP FELLOW CYLONS!!!
NEXT TUES IS SEASON FINALIE!!! AAACK

John Long authenticated the phaser more than Sulu did really, but it was a nice cameo for George, and a 2nd verification.

I have spoken with John a few times. He is a awesome weapons builder, and some his work were found in Space Above and Beyond.

EXCELLENT post, Bishop! :salute:

Now I guess it's time to show your photos, Dale...

About the Centurion itself: It's my guess it's the same costume first offered in March 2008 during Auction 31. They even used the same item description!

The Colonial Warrior Viper helmet also looks familiar.

Far too high!

AGREE! LOL! SO TRUE.

AGREE! We three are all on the same page, I love it.

And did you notice the write up? Full of "issues" too. The colors of the under suit don't sit right with me (as described ... just "pewter gray")... also the skirting is not a chain mail, but a metal mesh. A REAL black smith told me that (at a Renaissance Festival).

Oh well, IF I HAD WON MEGA MILLIONS I would be there, at the auction
Front row - Tha'ts me BUYING it.
It would be MINE! MY OWN... MY PRECIOUS!
:evillaugh:

... really I love Joe over at PiH and his TV show... but we gotta call him up. Tell him and his staff how to dress (Cylons - that is).

Hollywood Treasures - 2012 Thread

Careful what facts you can believe just because I know from hands on those guys are questionable. They were calling things props that were never used. they were staging so many things is just to be revealed for the first time. Lots of hocus-pocus.

This suit was a restored suit, and looks like the guys that did the work forgot to put a couple of things back on, and also looks like they got their heads out of the clouds with the price. The DREAM price was 100K. They really need to get someone down to Profiles that knows how a Cylon is displayed before they post these photo's.

I always presumed that. There's somehting fishy and ungenuine when I watch them. I really have no proof - just a feeling. Problem is that now with a TV program it actually gives them more credit than anyone else. Still, I watch the show every week because...props are cool!

yeah..... A buddy of mine knows the guy that sold the wonder woman bracelets, only thing is they weren't his. They asked him to pretend to sell them because they needed someone to act like they owned them. Makes you wonder how much of it is really staged.
If "they" say it can't be done, it just means "they" cant do it.

Since the Centurion has been officially announced by PiH, how about posting the your extra photos now, Dale?

I bet all our members would love to see them and even learn a few things from them.

What do you think?

Do you know exactly what was restored?
And you have some photos huh? GIVE!

As for the cost... so far the average realized sale price of "screen used centurions" that we have HARD FACTS for is: $24,500
