I LOVE IT!
What did you work from? A movie still photo? A Comic illustration? Your own take at it, etc.?

I used a comic cover for the bulk of the inspiration.

That, my friend, is a truly spectacular mask--and also inspiration!
That may have just nudged me back into sculpting.
Oh, FRACK! But I didn't say frack, I said the Queen Mother of all dirty words! The F, dash, dash, dash, dash word!

I was watched the MGM 1980 release of Flash Gordon over the weekend on Netflix, and this same type of mask was used there as part of Alien force. I had it on as background noise mostly so I didn't catch the names, but the jaw moved as the actor spoke. That was a bit of a surprise, but back then in the late 70's, and early 80 studios were going for broke (BIG BUDGET) with Sci Fi, and this movie showed it. Large set, lots of actors, and major bling, but a rotton script.

@Skullbeast - little off toipc, sorry, have you been following FaceOff on SyFy? Or seen the buzz about "Monster Maker" or something like that.

You should have your own TV show like that. YOU ROCK. (And I can be the goofy guy that asks lame questions you can explain. K? SUPER! :))

@GoldCylon - great eye for cool masks
@Red Eye - great pic! You got pic SKILLZ
@Spectre - go for it! Post up what you make - would love to see more creativity on the pages of BYC.net!
