Cool stuff. I used to do free flight around 77, 78. That is fun chasing your plane all over the place.

Yea I'v done a little of that a long time ago that's where my dad started me on the models....but Hours and weeks of building and to let it go and smash into a tree or fly so good it hooks a thermal and flies to the next state. ....Somtimes when the old R/C gear would fail you could practice free flight again ....unintentionally......for a few seconds.....But the equipment has never been better and full control is the only way to go!

Look close ...it had pepperoni wheels for god sake!

I hand cut all of the vinyl graphics with an exacto knife  ......4 hours!!!!! total build time maybe 9 or 10 tops!

it flew less than one and a half minutes perfectly!.

AND THEN!!!..........It was confetti in the blink of an eye! :wtf:

I built it as a demo plane for open house at our local Flying club but it never even made it to a meeting.

It Died a horrible,..... horrible death in the first test flight!!!!! :erk: :erk:

There were pieces of Vinyl Vegetables everywhere! :x

At least $350 dollars worth of radio gear and engine.............POOOF!!!.......Scattered all over the field! :wtf:

Choped up wires, Busted sevo cases, stripped Gears, Smashed Receivers, broken or cracked engine (If you can find it) :wtf:

But thats Airplanes! :salute: I'll build more!

:cylongold: Engines and Radios

:cylon: This is my transmitter the JR 10X. When I bought it, it was the state of the art, 12 years latter...It,s an antique.......But it's still a bad @$$ radio!! :salute:

:cylon: I thought you would like to see this.

This is one of our YS .63 4 Cycle Nitro, Fuel injected/Supercharged! Engine! ( No Joke It's FI and SC!) It has a pump that works off of the crank, Pressureizing the crank case and the fuel cell. The pressure on the fuel cell injects the nitro into the carburator at the same time a shutter diaphram opens and a burst of pressurized air is pushed into the chamber. Then the air and fuel is shot into the head. and Viola!! More Power!!!
