Ralph McQuarrie Concept Cylon Lid
Hi Guys,
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of BSG I have a commissioned a well known sculptor to produce a new lid for me, and wish to offer these to members of this Forum for the initial and maybe only ever run.
McQuarrie Concept art is having a bit of a re-surge at the moment with the recent appearance of the McQuarrie stormtroopers and the new Star Wars animated series "Rebals" based on McQuarries art.
Going through all the artwork there are two distinctive versions of the Concept Cylon, for ease of sculpting and ever "finishing" the lid we have decided to go with the "pilot" version which later become the Cylon we now know and love.
The Sculptor has asked to remain unnamed for now so he doesn't get bombarded with emails and PM's so please post here any questions or PM me and I will contact he any questions you have.
This is the same maker who made the McQuarrie helmets you see above!
Price we are looking at US $400 - No Deposit Required until they are ready to cast.
Time frame aprox 3 months give or take..
Please make a list of names (copy & paste)

When starting this, you could also ask him about doing Vulpa Six helmet:

Re: Ralph McQuarrie Concept Cylon Lid
that guy did an excellent job on the troopers - hats off!
I would love a concept lid except I can't commit to it. Thanks for offering them to the board.

Nice photo, Jenne. Thanks for sharing!
But I still prefer the costume in the middle.

Re: Ralph McQuarrie Concept Cylon Lid
That was a great weekend. I'm already booked for California in 2015.
Regards the lids I should point out they won't be "finished" they will need cleaning up and painting etc...
If that changes anyone's mind then I understand.

Re: Ralph McQuarrie Concept Cylon Lid
I am not committing to getting one of these fine pieces, but I have to say that a Vulpa6 cylon helmet would be a great new project (Cool! A Blue-Eye). I love that the interest in McQuarrie stormtroopers and cylon centurions are being raised by the fine work sculptors have contributed, creating a McQuarrie vision of The Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica. Hope to see more of the pilot cylon progress. Cheers and thanks to the creative sculpters and crew for your contributions...

Re: Ralph McQuarrie Concept Cylon Lid
Has anyone got a view to how the McQuarrie cylon armour may look. There would be a few variations from say Vulpa 6 to a cylon McQuarrie pilot. Perhaps they may be full body armour kits. (That's a lot of bling!!!)

- I'm interested to hear what forum members think McQuarrie Cylon might turn out like. May look like a full suit of armour like a stormtrooper.
