Eastern Alliance Stasi Class Destroyer

This illustration was done by me in 2010 of the Eastern Alliance Destroyer, which was a re-purposed model from one of the background ships of the RTF. It is possibly one of the coolest looking filming miniatures ever made for the show. I'm particularly proud of how this one turned out. As a matter of record, the "Stasi Class" name was what I gave it when I made this design, based on the East German aspect of the characters seen in the similarly-named Eastern Alliance. I know many people felt they were more like "Space Nazis", but at the time, the Cold War was at its pinnacle and Communism seemed more of a bad-guy trope than Fascism. Interestingly, since then, a resin model kit, papercraft kits and other things have come out based on this miniature, all using the "Stasi" name. I guess it stuck!
