Solon was a dope

Post by Specter » Fri Apr 13, 2018 1:26 pm

It occurs to me that in "Murder on the Rising Star," Sire Solon should have objected to letting Apollo be Starbuck's protector, because he was actually an important potential witness. Apollo was standing close enough to have heard Starbuck say "I'll kill him!" before he left the Triad court, and yet Solon never even sought to interview him. And his only objection to letting Apollo serve as protector was his inexperience, not his being a fact witness.

Essential to the way the story plays out, of course, but extremely dumb move on Solon's part.

Also, isn't it kind of absurd that a charge of murder had to be tried within what amounted to 10 hours, with absolutely no possibility of a postponement? Anyone here know anything about military justice? Does that bear any resemblance to any legal code in the real world? :wtf:
