I remember as a kid noticing number 1 and number 10 back when Empire was in it's original release. Lucas "borrowed" when creating Star Wars, I could see him "borrowing" again, even if from Galactica. Especially since he hated it so much, maybe some "revenge" in his eyes.

Hmmm... this surely gives one something to think about.

Personally, apart from the spaceship design I've never seen anything similar in BSG to Star Wars!

Thanks, Scott, this is a great compilation! I had just realized that Young Lords/Ewok resemblance yesterday and had noticed several of those other similarities over the years.

The ice planet Octa of Gun On Ice Planet Zero parts one & two is also an obvious sign when you think of the rebel base on Ice planet Hoth which was under assault from the forces of the Empire led by Darth Vader but it didn't have the Ice bound fortress under the command of Gold Centurion garrison commander Vulpa or the Pulsar Cannon created by Doctor Ravashol either...

There was a scripted exchange between Cassiopeia and Starbuck at the end of “Take the Celestra” that would have anticipated Empire/Jedi, had it not been changed. In the final version, when Cassiopeia shows Starbuck the concert ducats, he says, “What did I ever do to deserve you?” But in the earlier version, Starbuck tells her, “I really love you, you know.” She replies, “Yeah. I do.”

This is pretty darn similar to the “I love you”/“I know” exchanges between Han and Leia.

Wow Scott, that is is quite convincing. I have never seen these comparisons. Looks like quite a bit of the original star wars was taken from BSG.

As there is such dislike for the new Star Wars films would we say they are the Galactica 80 versions of Star Wars or even the rebooted Galactica show?

It seems fitting. The new versions trying to cash-in on the originals with a glancing knod or an easter egg here and there, then lightspeed off some weird story line that just leaves fans scratching their heads. Shouldn't be that way - so much room for so many great stories in the original series' boundaries.
