Real circumstances of Maren Jensen's departure?

Post by Hope It Is The Grog » Fri Oct 18, 2013 5:12 am

I had always heard that Maren Jensen was fired from the show because her acting ability was too limited. But recently someone on another forum said that she wanted to leave and it was her initiative. In no case did anyone cite an authoritative source.

So what is the real story? Did it have to do with her illness?

To many rumors and not enough facts.

She's serviceable most of the time, occasionally good but she was pretty awful in Greetings from Earth in the school room scenes.

If you watch all of the unfinished scenes on the DVD set, she has a few pretty horrendous moments. I can't remember the episode(s) right now.

Even in one of the scenes used in the Gun on Ice Planet Zero telemovie, she comes across badly. It's the one where she's talking to Starbuck about the list of people selected for the mission. To be fair, that scene wasn't very well scripted either.

Here are a few facts. She did walk away from Hollywood decades ago after she married a very successful broker in the New York City area where she still resides to this day.

Well that works for me and I guess for her. I had no idea where she went after BSG

She was very good in the under rated Wes Craven horror film Deadly Blessing (1981).
