Get your DVDs and your eagle eyes... The very first Cylon appearance is not when you think.
It seems it is at the 8 min mark when Zac scans the tankers, then Apollo sees the Raider fleet at 8:40. Well, there is an earlier Cylon!!!

Watch CLOSE at 5:57. Right after Zac and Apollo launch from the Galactica they bank, and the camera changes to a forward view where they fly toward us, the viewer. In the lower left a single Cylon Raider come on screen for a fraction of a second. Apparently following them as if in a dog fight. Stock footage not quite trimmed enough! The Raider is not there as the story goes... a production/edit oops!

I guess if there is a fire in space, it is hard to decide what to wear? <heehee>

Here's a nitpicky difference I hadn't spotted till the other day:

During the opening battle, when Adama orders "All batteries commence fire," a filtered voice responds (in the movie): "All fire control stations manned and operational." In the TV version, "manned and operational" is left out.

Another short sequence of a burning crew member falling over the railing on the Atlantia bridge was included in the movie version, but missing in the TV version.

Somewhere on the bridge of the Galactica there lurks the universe's fastest hairdresser, because Rigel sports three different hairstyles in Lost Planet of the Gods... sometimes (through the magic of reused footage) two hairstyles within one minute.
